DIANA FRITCH
BIOGRAPHY
Diana Fritch lives in Oceanside, CA, and spends many hours each day at the easel. From as early as Kindergarten she knew she was an artist. She studied under a private oil painting teacher and learned techniques of the Old Masters. She earned her BFA, with Illustration as her major. After several years she switched to Fine Art, and has exhibited in many well-known galleries, won awards in juried art shows, and was asked to write an article on art technique which was published in The Artist's Magazine. The use of strong color, attention to detail and a vivid imagination have all worked toward the creation of many excellent paintings. She loves to work in tight realism which reveals details the viewer wouldn't usually see or think about when viewing sometimes very ordinary objects. Close-up detail becomes almost abstract, which opens up the mind, causing the viewer to think of the subject in a completely different way.

EDUCATION
1987 - 1991
Fritch studied Fine Art and Illustration at the Art Institute of Southern California where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1991, graduating Valedictorian, Cum Laude. This private art college is now known as Laguna College of Art and Design, Laguna Beach, CA.
PUBLICATIONS
1999 Wrote article entitled Breathe Life into Florals for The Artist's Magazine, Nov. '99. Article was re-printed for the October, 2003 publication.
